In the event that a student has successfully attended a full year of kindergarten or
first grade in Pennsylvania and moves into the Easton Area School District, the
student will not be required to repeat kindergarten or first grade, even though
exclusively due to the fact that the student does not meet the age requirements at
EASD. A student moving into the district from another state who is already
attending kindergarten or first grade will be considered for kindergarten or first
grade placement based on previous experiences and their compatibility with the
program offered by the district as determined by Easton Area School District grade
level reading and math assessments (DIBELS, DRA, EASD Mathematics
Assessment).
Admission testing will be available for any child for the 2012-13 school year
provided that the parent/guardian has made a request in writing to the EASD
Director of Teaching and Learning on or before April 16, 2012.
